SNC Mini-Scuffle 3: Team Previews

It's another mini-Snack Scuffle Invitational! After two successful mini-Scuffles that preceded our summer competitive splits, SNC is using the off-season to retool and get some fun games in. This time out, we'll have two guest teams, the esteemed Facts and Logic and Wooper Academy to stand in for Radiant Twilight and Grumpy Bears (who may be no more, RIP). Let's take a look at the teams!

SNC Dreaded Dawn

The only current SNC team still in competition, Dreaded is currently 2-1 in Low Budget League’s Economy division. This motley crew is led by SNC Cerionna—aka Arctic —who may be watching from the sidelines due to homework obligations. School takes the best of us!

Captain SNC Titan will likely off-role to ADC and it’ll be his job to keep this team in line. The first order of business: off-roles for everyone! Former Sunset Raven’s coach SNC NumNums might get the chance to show off his famed Azir top while SNC WildStar is making his debut as a mid-laner. Darius mid anyone?!

And it’s the return of Squirrels to SNC as the duo of Squirrels and WildStar look to revive their chemistry from their Radiant Twilight days. Overall we’re excited to see what Dreaded can do in the Scuffle as the lead up to their game on Sunday in LBL.

SNC Sunset Ravens

Surprising the analysts, Sunset Ravens was the talk of Blue Otter League IBS this past split as they emerged as the top seed in Piltover with a 4-2 record, taking down some heavy hitters along the way.

However, roster shuffles took their toll heading into the playoffs and without the leadership provided by Coach Ryddle, Ravens was eliminated from the postseason this past Thursday by GSG Psi—Squirrel’s BOL team!

Captain SNC Grim is back in midlane after a one week absence and visionary support SNC Zaidi is taking a weekend break from his studies to also resume his role. Freed from the constraints of serious competition, we’re interested to see what top laner Clukurduk can pull out for this series. Also there might be a change at ADC, as Itzraider10 is making a return to the Rift as Xandradraeda’s replacement. Ravens may have sunsetted in BOL but they’ll look for redemption in the Scuffle!

Facts and Logic

A late entrant to Zero Gravity Gaming, Facts and Logic were new on the IBS scene this past split. They quickly proved that big brains rise to the top as they dominated the regular season, losing only in their first outing. However, despite sitting 5-1 and having their ticket stamped for the playoffs, ZGG admins moved to give forfeits to Facts and Logic due to a disputed burner account by King Vivi.

After being relegated to ZGG’s knockout rounds, Facts and Logic were upset by Glacial Knights—the eventual gauntlet winners who also took down Sun Guardians—and are looking to return to their winning ways.

The good news: The Scuffle doesn’t care about admin rulings! (We’ve had some, ahem, bought accounts of our own that have disqualified players. One player….) The king is back and Vivi will be on-hand for today’s festivities.

It looks like Facts and Logic has had their players shuffling across all five roles—match history reveals that most of their roster has played at least two positions in comp—so it’s hard to say who will play where. Captain Aphrelia may just roll the dice and randomize roles? We love to see this type of flexible chaos and we’re excited for Facts and Logic to join the party!

Wooper Academy

Featuring one of the best logos in the business, Wooper Academy was also new to the IBS scene this past split. This newly established team stumbled coming out of the gates, losing some tight games that saw them sitting at 1-3 by midseason. However, Woopers never say die—actually Woopers only say “woop”—as they pulled together for two solid wins at the end of the BOL season—one against Sunset Ravens in WK6—but still landed ultimately just short of the playoffs.

With their competitive fire still burning, Wooper is coming into the Scuffle looking to win it all. The fearsome bot lane of AznSoulSlayer and BOL MVP candidate HailieVictoria are a force to be reckoned with while new-ish jungler TD Pandorum is out to create some highlights of his own.

Solo laners thelaviathan and LostHavok have been steady presences in their respective lanes all season long but there’s a chance we’ll see some subs as coach IshaN looks to shake things up for the Scuffle. And with AznSoulSlayer recently ranked out of IBS, this could serve as this current iteration of Wooper’s roster last hurrah!

Update: On-the-field reporters say that they’re seeing Pandorum in mid, LostHavok in jungle, and either HailieVictoria or Sunnyyyy as support. It's another mystery box lineup for tonight!

SNC Brawl 2023: WK1 / WK2

Welcome to SNC Brawl, our mini-league where we play for fun! It’s six weeks of theme madness and we hope it’ll go well! We split up the teams--each week--by ELO and go from there, who knows what'll happen! [  Rules  |  Sheet  |  Stats  |  Twitch  ] 🔵 Blue: SNC Big Bear, ToukasRage, SNC Cerionna, Macros2308, JasonKBoy23 (GM1/3), EGirlFox (GM2) 🔴 Red: BigBoyPK, Adarasto, EGirlFox (GM1), huskyrunner18, Saint Millay, SNC Silent Bear (GM2/3) WK1GM1 Our first week for Brawl action was a simple “hello, getting to know you” gathering that featured faces old and new in an all-out battle on the Rift, featuring the different regions of Runeterra. First up would be The Void versus Targon—monsters versus gods, or something like that. Morally suspect versus morally suspect! The spicy bot lane of Soraka / Taric (piloted by SNC Cerionna and Macros2308) could only be matched by the Leona top (JasonKBoy23) versus a traditional Kai’Sa / Vel’Koz and a Cho’Gath. Thi...

SNC Winter 2023: Player Profiles

We did player profiles after split two and here we are again! As mentioned before in the regular season recap, SNC had twenty-seven players that hit the Rift this season and we're here to take a look at all of them! [ Split 2:  Part 1 | Part 2 ] SNC EJooN After a trip to the homeland before the split, EJooN came back from Korea leveled up and ready to finally make his debut in comp play. And what a debut it was as he truly made a name for himself in LBL Commercial, with one article even highlighting how EJoon had “blown expectations out of the water…[as an] aggressive player who [isn’t] afraid to take risks to build leads…and [EJooN’s] performance in every series so far reflects that.” It’s hard to believe that EJooN joined SNC as mostly a Mundo main, and now dominates with all sorts of top lane champions. With a fierce competitive drive, EJooN has shared with us that he also dances competitively… will we ever see his fancy footwork off the Rift? We sure hope so! Champs Played: ...

SNC Scuffle Stats: WK1 & WK2

We all know LOL is really a game about numbers right? How many kills, how much gold, how many of my teammates are gonna feed, how long do I de-install the game before reinstalling it? That kind of thing. So with that in mind, here are some Scuffle stats for us to look at! As we know, numbers never lie right?!? To start, our current standings are below: Grumpy Bears (4-2) Sunset Ravens (3-3) Sun Guardians (3-3) Radiant Twilight (2-4) [ Scuffle Stats sheet ] On the first tab we have every player’s combined KDA compiled across all of their games — some players had games in two roles, or even two teams. The next tab is the results and stats from the twelve games we’ve had so far. And following that is the "individual" tab that has sortable stats from each game, and the last tab has the same info but with KDA, CS/M, and G/Min compiled. Taking the top players — by statistics — over the past two Scuffles (minus players with only one game), we see the entire top five being dominate...
