SNC Dreaded Dawn (Series: 6-2, Games: 12-8)
After last split, we were pretty dead certain that Dreaded was going to be put out to pasture. After a playoff showing and a 5-2 regular season in LBL Commercial, many of the DD members were going to be short on time—or patience—for comp play. However, as the next split deadline bore down, SNC PK started wondering if maybe Dreaded should be resurrected. Shockingly, SNC Cerionna was also on-board, and thus DD crawled out of the grave, hungry for another go!
With the goal of having a nice and chill season, this second iteration of Dreaded Dawn featured a few semi-newcomers: onfire1342 (mid), SquishyRainbow (sup), and DepressedBleach (top). Both onfire and Squishy have been around SNC before—especially Squishy—dating all the way back to the Radiant Dawn days. As for Depressed, his time with Snack Bears extends even further back, so far back that he’s one of the fourteen “Boomer Bears.” However, this would be Depressed’s—and Squishy’s—first time in comp play.
The returning trio of PK, Cerionna, and Talon (now SNC Twinberry) would insure a solid foundation for the team and prognosticators anticipated a good season for them. Alas, right out of the gate, DD hit a snag as Cerionna had technical issues as his computer--which was actually ex-teammate WildStar’s old laptop—had blown up and was unusable. Luckily, in stepped free agent Chunk (aka Steve NÆ), who took the vacated ADC spot and immediately impressed with his skills, eventually elevating himself to the starting position.
Despite a WK1 loss to Team Volatility Arcana, DD managed to win their next three games, which included some substitute work by familiar face SNC EJoon (now SNC Juneberry), who had insisted he was retired. The former DD top laner found himself in bot and mid lane for Dreaded this split, as he was literally forced to be a sub for WK2, WK7, and the playoffs.
Sadly, due to scheduling issues, Squishy only got on the Rift once for DD, in a WK6 matchup versus LA Tech—which featured Twinberry as Draven ADC. Also, let us not forget SNC favorite EGirlFox, who stepped in as a sub during the chaos of WK1.Behind the scenes, PK discovered the tough job of being a captain, as lineups shifted and schedules were constantly moving around. Chaos is the Dreaded way however, and our Kayn main really pulled off double duty with aplomb. Thanks cap!
- WK1: Team Volatility Arcana (0-2)
- WK2: Barbeque Boys (2-1)

- Playoffs RD1: Cuddly League Guys (0-2)
Overall, it was a successful split for DD as they exceeded expectations and had some hilarious times, as is always the case with these rascals. Remember the time when Arctic’s computer monitor wiped out mid-game, forcing DD to finish the game 4v5? (It was a win btw!) Or the casters saying: "Just realizing, [there's] a lot of berries on this team…” Or how about when PK’s Zac stood still in the river unmoving—doing absolutely nothing—while Depressed’s Ornn was cleaning up the enemy team and working his way toward a near penta? (PK was so excited watching this unfold that he had forgotten about Zac’s passive…)
So how about it guys, run it back? Dreaded Three?

Also, not let us forget the true legacy of this version of Dreaded, a rules change that will live on forever in LBL lore: new Rule 4.3.3. So, did the opposing team forget smite and refuse to honor the old no-remake rule? Did Dreaded try to honor the law of the land and get disrespected for it? Did they stir up trouble for the LBL admins? Yes, yes, yes, no, maybe, yes, yes? The rocket don't stop...unless the enemy team refuses to unpause...
Team MVP
Rookie top laner DepressedBleach impressed everyone with his play, making third team All-Star in his debut season. After weeks of preseason prepping and telling Depressed to play tanks and engages, it turned out this Riven main was just too good for mere tank duty. Depressed Bleach literally never lost lane during the regular season, and improved his macro dramatically as well. With such a rock in the top lane, it was no wonder Dreaded had such a successful season. DD’s biggest question mark heading into the season ended up being part of its foundation. Shots, shots, shots!
Champs played: Sett (5), Fiora (3), Riven, Gwen, Ornn (2), Yone, Garen
SNC Twinberry also made third team All-Star, getting in three games of his signature Zoe, as well as additional off-meta picks like Quinn and Syndra support—no doubt helping garner Dreaded one of Commercial B’s “wackiest team” honors.
Coach Furry
Making his semi-return to drafting duties for Dreaded, Furry has now codified his drafting philosophy. Take a look below. Here’s a preview: “The enemy team does not matter. The current patch meta does not matter. The two main factors are: ‘Do my players play this champ?’ and ‘What do these champs do during team fights?’” The man has distilled drafting down to the truth...
